Pip's Birthday

I wanted to share my fantastic idea I had in about February when I started thinking about my son, Pip's birthday. But first off, I didn't really have a way to buy decorations for his birthday because our family is tight on money so I had to find a way to make things. Now for my idea which stemmed from the way I made most his decorations; I would use the party decorations in his room (or really his corner, our house is small). I was really proud when I stumbled on this realization and couldn't wait to start.
I love the book Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak which won a Caldecott Medal in the early 60's and saw some awesome birthday ideas on Pinterest (I took inspiration from multiple photos and not any specific pins or tutorials). I made two banners out of paper one with the book title and the other 'A Wild One'. I like the little bunting banners and don't find them too difficult to make although I always write out the letters on separate paper and layer it on top incase I totally mess it all up. I also love how people have taken quotes from the book and made art out of them particularly in nurseries and kids rooms, I saw a lot of fun printables and made my own painted canvases which were free handed. I also made a felt crown to go on Pip's cake along some other Pinterest ideas such as bubbles 'to tame the wild things'.
Now here's the felt crown on his smash cake and one of the bunting banners:
Here was the set up at his party:

Here is most of the decorations in his room (his corner of our room):

It was super fun to bring all the things into his room because we had a theme for his nursery but we ended up not super loving it and the corner had pretty blank walls for a good amount of time.
